The Master's in Management (MMGT) is a graduate-level business degree that can prepare you for advanced organizational leadership responsibilities. The MMGT offers courses in topics like leadership, change management, negotiations, managing people, and project management.

A management master's degree is applicable to all industries. The MMGT is a useful degree to build on a foundation of knowledge about operating a business and will transform you into an adept problem-solver and an expert in managing people.

Program Outcomes

Students who successfully complete this MMGT program will be able to:

  • Apply critical thinking, data-driven analysis, and ethical reasoning to ensure strategic, systems-level decision-making.

  • Analyze change management practices within a global context.
  • Evaluate the connection between management theory and practice in business settings.
  • Analyze how management decisions align with an organization's goals and strategy.
  • Apply theories and concepts of organizational behavior, leadership, and management to improve organizational effectiveness.

Admission Requirements

There are no standardized test requirements. To be accepted into the MMGT program, applicants must meet the following prerequisites:

  • Proficiency in English: All students must demonstrate college-level English reading and writing proficiency. Non-native English speakers may be required to complete Saylor's ESL courses prior to acceptance.
  • Bachelor's Degree: Applicants must hold a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Residency Requirement: Applicants must reside in the US state of Florida or outside the United States and its territories. Residents of other US states or territories, and residents of Iran, Syria, Crimea, Cuba, or North Korea are not currently eligible.
  • Entrance Exam: Students must successfully complete the MMGT Entrance Exam with a minimum score of 80%. Study materials including a preparation course are available.
  • Course Completion: Prospective students must satisfactorily pass MMGT601: Financial Management with 80% or higher. This course also grants three graduate credits.
  • Enrollment Agreement: Students must complete the MMGT Enrollment Agreement upon achieving the required score on the entrance exam.

Pre-Entry Course Requirements

All students must first complete the MMGT001 Entrance Exam and then successfully complete MMGT601: Financial Management. Students must also complete the enrollment agreement including official proof of identity and a transcript of an earned bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. There are no waivers available for these requirements.

Application and Enrollment Process

Upon successful completion of the entrance exam and prerequisites, students may register within 90 days by completing the online enrollment agreement, including official proof of identity and a transcript of an earned bachelor's degree. Students will be promptly notified after review and approval, and can then begin the program.

Program Structure

Step 1

Mandatory Prerequisites

Complete these two courses in order before moving on to core courses:

  • MMGT001: MMGT Entrance Exam
  • MMGT601: Financial Management

MMGT001 and MMGT601 must be completed in order before proceeding.

Step 2

Core Courses

After completing the prerequisites, take the following courses in any order:

  • MMGT602: Marketing Management
  • MMGT603: Managing People
  • MMGT604: Advanced Organizational Behavior
  • MMGT605: Strategic Project Management
  • MMGT606: Strategic Negotiations & Conflict Management
  • MMGT607: Data-Driven Decision-Making
  • MMGT608: Applications of Management Information Systems

Step 3

Sequenced Courses

Once MMGT602–608 are completed, finish the final two courses in order:

  • MMGT609: Leading Organizational Change
  • MMGT610: Ethical & Strategic Management

These courses integrate all previous learning into a final examination of real-world management challenges.

Students must complete all MMGT courses with a minimum score of 80% to earn the Master's in Management degree.

Proctoring Fees

All final exams must be taken in a proctored environment through SmarterProctoring. Each session costs $5.00, and each course requires one proctored exam.

  1. Create a Saylor University Degrees account if you don't already have one.
  2. Once logged in, select the Enroll in a Degree Program link from the banner or go to the Program Catalog.
  3. Choose the MMGT Prerequisites program (Pre-MMGT).
  4. Select the Sign Up button.
  5. Complete the content in the following order:
    1. MMGT Admissions Exam Prep Course
    2. Master's in Management (MMGT) Entrance Exam (score of 80% required)
    3. MMGT601: Financial Management
    4. Master's in Management (MMGT) Enrollment Agreement
